And so the cookie crumbles

"We do not make decisions based off fear".
My husband told me this after I had shared with him a situation that I was dealing with. What struck me most about him saying this was the fact that the situation I was narrating did not necessarily appear to be a "fear-inducing" situation. It was simply me letting him know that I did not want to respond to a specific message that I had received from a certain person. On a surface level, one could just say that I was attempting to "protect my peace" but by God's grace, the Holy Spirit gave my husband the understanding to call out the root of the problem...fear.
His statement not only jolted me to fully appreciate the real reason behind my apprehension at responding to this particular message, but it also made me wonder how many other situations I conveniently shied away from doing or saying what needed to be done or said under the guise of "protecting my peace", "living in my safe space" or " not "not wanting to be one of God's strongest soldiers in the new year". Many times, if not most, we say these statements because we fear the alternative. The alternative can range from confronting those who hurt us, asking difficult questions, taking responsibility for our own bad decisions or choosing to align ourselves to the will of God despite the fear of the unknown or worse the potential pain we will endure by embracing the alternative.
When the cookie crumbles, we are all faced with a decision to make.
In my instance, I chose to respond with hope and replied to that specific message.
The question is what will you base your decisions on?
Hope or fear?
I pray we all start making our decision based off on hope and not fear.
'We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.'
